About

Hi. I’m Guy Cook and, after publishing the fictional tales Culture Man and The Overarm Dog, this blog unleashes me into the world of factual writing.

First though, an aside on the books. The Overarm Dog—about a dog learning the front crawl—is a 30-page short story written in 2012. Culture Man is a 230-page novel released in May 2017, and is a light-hearted, human story, with action, suspense and a bit of superheroism, set in Winchester. They’re on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats—click on the cover images to find them or check out the Facebook link or website for more details. But enough of that, I promise to market my books no further.

Now for the blog. I’ve chosen the broad subject areas of sport, science, politics and literature, and will run specific investigations within these topics. There’s likely to be some long-running goals—for example, to summarise all of sport or to discover the secret of the universe—interspersed with shorter and ad hoc posts.  See what you think!
